Let’s get searching: A brief on SEO

What is this SEO thing everyone is talking about and why is it so important?

SEO stands for search engine optimization. SEO is the process of giving your site it’s blueprint. This is a complex process that takes time and practice to master.

Search engines are how almost all website owners get many of their visitors. If like me you want those visitors to read other content on your website, it must be easy navigate! That is the essence of SEO, making sure your site has a great blueprint.

In this article, you will learn three ways to improve your site and make your site more SEO friendly.

Keywords and You

Once your site is up and running it’s time to craft your keywords. Fifteen keywords or less is what I personally use. Before I write the content, I ask myself who my target audience is. Once that is known, I select my first keyword. For example, if my audience is hikers, a keyword I should include for SEO purposes is hiking. Pick synonyms and words within that niche while you select the rest of your keywords. Keywords let search engines put your content in front of your audience, so choose wisely. You also want to have keywords in other areas they may be looking. Hikers for example may be looking for a new backpack, so including ‘backpack’ as your keyword will further the range of impressions and visitors your site has. With the word ‘backpack’ as a key word you can also expand your potential audience. Students of all ages (college included!) now could see your site in their searches! This is the essence of making your site SEO friendly.

SEO

Link it Up

Links within your content to another of your articles helps search engines and readers see the niche you are targeting. You want your readers to see that your content is structured, flows, and is valuable. Take the backpack example, if your niche is camping, you could link to an article on your site about one of the adventures you took.

Also, providing relevant internal links to other articles shows your readers you know your stuff.

If you don’t know, or someone already made a great article link it up! Link to other articles about the content. Search engines will rate your content higher for valuable external links. Don’t just take my word for it though, learn more here.

Headings are your Friend

Headings work great for two reasons. The first is the benefit to you. It allows the writer to have an outline for the content they are going to write, thus establishing a soft blueprint for the article. Headings also let the reader know what the section is going to be about. SEO is all about readability and structure, so with headings search engines are better able to read your content and thereby rank it higher!

Wrapping it Up

SEO is a complex process, but it is a process all digital entrepreneurs should learn. It is vital for connecting your readers with you! 1. NICE INFO…
There are many ways to create a website but however with certain restrictions. Best way I would like to suggest is to know the basics of web designing with html and css and then start creating the website of you choice.
